Favorite Memory-
Things at the UFD have change a lot from my student time to current practices. I love seeing the students that have left for employment in other places. When they return for a visit, they always have great stories to tell about where they currently are working, and how much this organization has helped them achieve their goals.
Brief History-
I started my career at North Star Volunteer Fire department. After entering my first fire, I knew what I wanted to do for a career. I was hired as a student fire fighter and continued my education at the same time. I moved to Kansas City and work there (on the Kansas side) for the next several years. Working in a large department was what I always wanted to do.
I found working in such a large organization I was only a number. Wanting to do more I was hired back to UFD in 1991. I love working with the students. They are always eager to learn.
