4 and half years
What is your favorite memory, story, experience, etc. while at the University Fire Department?
Too many to mention, but it was great time and a great way to build a marketable skill-set for my career in Emergency Services. So happy there was not a police department on campus while I was there!!
Brief History/Biography: After graduation, I went to work in the oil industry in the Cook Inlet area and the North Slope for a short while. I soon took a full-time career position at Chena Goldstream Fire and Rescue in Fairbanks and was a Chief Officer for over 18 years prior to becoming the Emergency Services Administrator for the Fairbanks North Star Borough. I still continue to volunteer as a Battalion Chief and EMT with Chena Goldstream Fire and Rescue with nearly 28 years on the department as of 2014. I still live in Fairbanks where my wife and I are raising our large family. Never forget your roots!!
